A start up within the consumer insurance industry is currently looking for their first UK based in-house lawyer. As an insurance intermediary plus, owned by a larger well-established insurance company, this organisation offers the best of both – the opportunity to shape and grow the role within a dynamic, fast moving environment, and the corporate safety net of the US parent. Within a small open plan office based in Central London you will collaborate with the business and operations teams offering support on commercial contracts such as terms and conditions and supplier contracts, whilst also supporting on regulatory matters (data privacy, Brexit etc.) and some M&A. The workload will be fluid as the organisation grows and gains large corporate customers across the UK and Europe. You will get an excellent overview to the organisation as your work touches on every part. Strong support is on hand from the immediate management team and the general counsel.
The position will suit someone from a commercial and regulatory insurance background, either in-house already or straight from practice, likely to have around 5 years’ experience. Cultural fit and character will be important as you will be required to self-motivate yourself during the troughs as well as the peaks and will need to be pro-active with energy, drive, commitment and determination. This is not a role where you can sit behind your desk but requires real teamwork, communication and collaboration with your co-workers.
We are looking for someone who can help keep the business doing the right thing across the board as they grow. Someone prepared to take a risk, who will see and grasp this opportunity and who will be looking to better themselves, to either grow within the organisation or move on to the next one.
