Commercial Banking Lawyer

Manchester, Cardiff, Reading, Market rate, contract
Back to vacancies

A lawyer is being sought for a maternity cover to support a relatively young commercial banking business. Although initially a 9 month contract, the business and legal department are growing as the organisation is going through much change with a new CEO and fresh ideas being explored, so there is plenty of potential for any talented lawyer who joins now. Day to day legal work will focus on supporting the asset finance, invoice finance and commercial real estate business lines. As well working on banking transactions you will be required to deal with broader in-house legal matters such as complaints from customers, assisting marketing. and more commercial enquiries that require a legal view point. You will work with a senior lawyer but have the opportunity to run business streams alone.

Although we are looking for a general banking lawyer for this position, specific experience in asset finance, real estate finance or litigation will be welcome. You will need to be flexible in your approach but will be offered the opportunity to put your stamp on things, put processes in place and be listened to. The role would suit someone with at least 3 years post qualified experience.
