Commercial lawyer, FinTech Scale-Up

We’re currently working with a scaling up payments company with a unique culture who are looking to recruit a commercial lawyer to perform a broad in-house counsel function. The main element of your work will include outsourcing, supplier contracts, licencing arrangements and other commercial contracts within a regulatory setting, although if you want to expand your skillset there will be opportunity to pick up other areas that take your interest. Working in an entrepreneurial environment means that people will run ideas and data flows past you as you get involved with the business at concept stage, and you will deal with a plethora of matters in your inbox. You will need to make quick decisions sometimes based on limited information and without everything down in writing. Whilst excellent external resources are available you will be expected to take on responsibility whilst enjoying open dialogue with the collaborate team.

The successful candidate can expect to work in a non-hierarchical, open and transparent culture for an exciting business as they move into the next stage of expansion. Around 4 or 5 years’ experience from a good City firm or financial services company would be most appropriate and a broad open mindset is required.
