A large retail and financial services company, listed on the London Stock Exchange, is currently looking to hire an experienced Company Secretary on a contract basis. With a £1bn turnover and over 2000 employees mostly based in the North, this position will cover a period of restructuring of the governance function allowing existing permanent employees to adjust and settle in the department. You will be required to help with project work and BAU as well as supporting the ongoing governance review and future resourcing.
This opportunity will best suit someone who knows their way around a company secretarial function well and who ideally has prior experience of scaling up a team. You should have listed company experience. Although initially a contract position it is highly likely that this person will be asked to stay on, either in a temporary or permanent position. The position can be completely remote, but you will be expected to form a rapport with senior management on the office and should be proactive rather than responsive.
