A substantial growth plan at this recently listed financial services organisation has resulted in a need to expand the legal team. The Head of Legal is now seeking a lawyer to support the treasury, global markets, trade finance and other front office teams. This is a pivotal role and we are looking for a level lawyer from either a derivatives or capital markets background, ideally with some more general lending experience. On the derivatives side, this lawyer will need to advise and guide a business that has limited experience in this field on building a product from the ground up. The role will require someone to assist in the expansion of the legal offering and therefore set up new processes. As part of an international specialist business which is mission focussed, your BAU will be to work on a small volume, but a large number of varied legal matters.
This position will suit someone around 4-8 years qualified who is technically proficient but more importantly, is self-motivated and looking for continuous development. It is important that you are not daunted by starting with very little and building something up. You will be supported as you grow with the business but you should be able to work with autonomy. Some in-house experience would be preferable.
