Our client is an international asset manager with a small London office and a friendly and supportive culture. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced investment funds lawyer to join this highly regarded international business on a long-term fixed term contract covering a maternity leave. You will be taking the lead on legal matters supporting its UK operations and cross-border distribution activities as well as taking responsibility for the UK compliance function.
The role has a particular focus on UCITS funds, advising on distribution across the UK, Europe and the Middle East, working closely with management companies, external counsel and commercial teams on fund documentation, distribution agreements and new market registrations. You’ll also advise on investment management agreements, private placements, commercial contracts and wider legal issues affecting the business.
While the position includes oversight of the UK legal and compliance function, this is fundamentally a legal advisory role, offering broad exposure to complex investment funds work within a collaborative global team.
You’ll be an experienced investment funds lawyer with:
In-house experience is welcome but not essential, and the role would also suit a private practice investment funds lawyer looking to move into a broad commercial in-house position.
This is a rare opportunity to join a respected global asset manager in a visible role offering high-quality legal work, international exposure and genuine strategic influence.
This is an interesting and challenging, wide-ranging role which will offer you the opportunity to make an impact from an early stage within a diverse and successful business which places a strong emphasis on technology.
