An opportunity has arisen for an experienced derivatives lawyer to advise directly on the legal and regulatory issues shaping a growing OTC derivatives business, including emerging areas such as crypto.
Our client is a growing global markets business with a strong presence across exchange-traded and OTC markets, underpinned by a technology-led, multi-asset platform. This role sits within the legal team supporting a specialist solutions division as it develops its OTC derivatives offering.
Taking the lead on the more structured OTC work you will provide supervision to less experienced members of the team and take ownership of the direction of the ISDA positions doing the more complex work stemming from documentation such as defaults and complex margin set ups.
As well as reviewing new product types and structures across asset classes, drafting and negotiating ISDA, CSA, GMRA and GMSLA documentation, advising the desk on contractual rights, and monitoring UK and international regulatory developments. Joining the team in a senior role, there will be the opportunity to take on management responsibility quickly for the right person.
We are looking for a qualified lawyer with at least 5 years’ PQE, ideally including in-house experience, with a strong understanding of financial markets and products. You will be able to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, communicate complex issues clearly and pragmatically, and bring strong academics and sound judgement under pressure.
This is a collaborative, non-bureaucratic environment offering genuine exposure to product innovation across established and emerging derivatives markets, and the chance to shape legal strategy for a business in active growth.
