Pensions Legal Counsel

A well-established pensions provider is looking to appoint a Pensions Legal Counsel to join its growing legal team, providing pragmatic, commercial pensions advice across the business.
This is a broad pensions-focused role with plenty of variety — spanning scheme queries, operational issues, and requiring the commercial awareness and ability to spot crossover issues such as tax, regulatory, data privacy, alongside involvement in wider change programmes.

What’s involved:
• Providing comprehensive, timely and pragmatic legal advice on pensions matters to the business, Trustees and internal teams
• Identifying, managing and mitigating legal risks, including disputes and litigation support
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating documentation with third parties
• Monitoring regulatory developments affecting pensions activities and advising the business accordingly
• Supporting company-wide programme and change projects with pensions expertise
• Liaising with external stakeholders including regulators, external counsel and industry bodies

About you:
• UK qualified lawyer (or overseas equivalent) with 3–10 years’ PQE in a commercial, financial and/or pensions environment
• Experience providing legal advice on pensions and commercial matters
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels across the business
• Commercially minded, with sound judgement and strong attention to detail
